When a business calls about a glass door, the glass is intact more often than not. Aluminum-framed leaves, all-glass doors and interior wood-and-glass doors use entirely different hardware families and price very differently.

Frequently Asked Questions

My door slams. Is that dangerous?+

It is at minimum a nuisance and can become a safety and liability issue in a public building. A slamming door usually means the closer has lost fluid or its adjustment, and it is one of the cheaper repairs on this page.

Can you repair an all-glass door or does it have to be replaced?+

If the glass is sound, the fittings can normally be serviced or replaced. If the leaf is cracked or chipped at a fitting, the whole leaf must be replaced — tempered glass cannot be repaired.

How long does a replacement glass door take?+

Hardware repairs are often completed within days once parts arrive. A replacement all-glass leaf is fabricated to the existing hole pattern and typically takes longer, since holes are made before tempering.

Can you match my existing hardware finish?+

We match the current product where it is still available. Anodised and painted finishes weather over time, so new hardware beside older hardware may read slightly differently. On a bank of doors, replacing matching components together looks better.

Why does my door not latch unless I pull it?+

Usually a misaligned strike, a worn deadlatch, or a closer that no longer has the force to complete the latch cycle. All three are diagnosable in one visit.

Do you work on automatic doors?+

We service the glass, framing and manual hardware on automatic entrances. Automatic operators themselves are specialised equipment and are usually best serviced by the operator manufacturer's certified technician.

Can you adjust door opening force for accessibility?+

We adjust closers within the hardware manufacturer's range and can report the resulting operation. Required opening forces for a specific occupancy are determined by the design team and the Authority Having Jurisdiction, not by us.

Is my door glass required to be tempered?+

Can you make a cold entrance warmer?+
